Border Encyclopedia is commissioned by the Research Centre for Arts, Autonomy and Public Sphere (Zuyd University). It is an initiative of ITEM (Institute for Transnational and Euregional cross border cooperation and Mobility) and executed by the Institute of Cartopology and Dear Hunter.

During the project, various workshops are organised in which (mostly) students take part. An expert meeting halfway the project provides an outside view and helps moving in the right direction. Our gratitude goes out to our advisors, to the experts, to all participating students and to the universities willing to cooperate: Zuyd University (Maastricht/The Netherlands), RWTH Aachen University (Aachen/Germany), Aalto University (Helsinki/Finland) and Fontys University (Venlo/The Netherlands).
